About
I am a visual artist, originally from London, and have been living in Co. Cork, Ireland, since 1999. I studied Fine Art at Kingston University London, followed by a PGCE in Art Education and Art Therapy from the City of Birmingham University. Whilst at Kingston, I received the David Murray Travel Award from the Royal Academy.
In 2006 received an Artists Bursary from Cork County Council.
The focus of my practice currently, is often on the landscape and the natural world, capturing the essence and feeling of a place. My work is drawing based and in recent years I have found myself experimenting more with layering of colour, texture, and materials, which leads to a more abstracted and expressive interpretation of the world around me. I have also used old photographs to create figurative paintings reflecting isolation, on friendships and social events that, during the pandemic, were under restrictions.
I have exhibited my work over the years in solo and group shows, both in Ireland and London. Recent exhibitions include:
